Strong organic growth 2010-2014

During the 2010-2014 period, business grew strongly, with a threefold increase in credit production, taking the company above a 2% market share. Meanwhile major partnership agreements were signed in the auto financing segment with Harley Davidson, Ducati and Triumph in the motorbike sector and Kia and Hyundai in the car sector as a result of which the business expanded further to become the number two provider on the market.

New opportunities arising from the creation of BGZ BNP Paribas

The formation of the merged bank BGZ BNP Paribas had a major impact on the consumer credit business, given that 70% of all consumer credit sales in Poland take place at bank branches. With BGZ BNP Paribas, the branch network available to BNP Paribas Personal Finance expanded from 220 to close to 600 branches, which is likely to lead to a doubling of total credit grants.

Meanwhile the BNP Paribas Group s move to take 100% control of LaSer in July 2014 has paved the way for BGZ BNP Paribas to absorb Sygma s Polish business. However, for regu- latory reasons, this will in practice not happen before 2016.

A promising future

The Personal Finance business line is responsible for all BGZ BNP Paribas consumer credit business. When all the BGZ BNP Paribas and Sygma businesses are finally united, the Personal Finance business line will become a multi-specialist in consumer credit with a strong position in all market segments: number 2 in auto loans a position further strengthened by the signing of a partnership with Mitsubishi in 2015, number 3 in point-of-sale credit over 13,000 points-of-sale work with Sygma in Poland, number 2 in credit and loyalty cards: 600,000 Sygma customers have a credit card and the BNP Paribas Personal Finance business line is thus set to become the top card issuer in Poland and the number 3 player in the market, number 6 in sales of personal loans at bank branches, benchmark digital credit player with iGotowka, which provides 100%-online personal loans.

Michel Thébault, Head of Personal Finance at BGZ BNP Paribas, has great confidence in the future of the business line but nevertheless underlines the upcoming challenges: We re aiming for a 6% market share in 2018 and our business is well under control and profitable. In addition, our responsible credit brand signature fits perfectly with the overall BGZ BNP Paribas positioning as a highly responsible bank serving the real economy, its customers and the local communities.
